The New York Harriers is a competitive running team. Most of our members race a 10K between a 5:30 and 8:30 pace. However, we do not discriminate based on speed. The Harriers welcome those who want to work hard to be the best runners they can, compete for the team, and add to our team spirit by supporting teammates. The best way to check out the Harriers is by attending a workout. We strongly encourage you to do this before applying for membership. Wednesdays are the recommended workouts for fir …

I LOVE tennis!! My relationship with running is a bit more complicated. It's more of a love/hate type thing. I love the energy and excitement of races, but I hate running alone. So I figured, why not start a Queens Tennis meetup that incorporates warm up and short distance runs before we play tennis. Two of my favorite parks are Astoria Park and Flushing Meadows/Corona Park, so I will be alternating the meetups between these two parks. Both are great for running and tennis. The purpose of …

This is a group for those interested in group runs starting in Long Island City. There are running clubs based in north Brooklyn and Astoria but none, for reasons I can't explain, in LIC. Goals of the group: change that fact; connect people seeking running partners; explore new routes. All skill levels welcome. Envisioning runs in the 4-7 mile range but the beauty of the experiment is it's entirely flexible to the wants of those who join!

OK what's up with all the neurotic 9 am running groups? I use Saturday mornings to sleep in after a long week of work and other crap. Let's do a nice civilized 4 pm run in Central Park (or other locations if we want). This is the first one (because I couldn't find any other small running groups at this time, I started my own).

This is a group for anyone interested in running along the river below 14th St. I started this group to meet other outdoor enthusiasts who want to be outdoors in the morning instead of in a gym on a treadmill. All skill levels are welcomed but you should have some running experience.

If you want to mix it up with a fun bunch, meet some cool new folks ... Join us and come to our next run this Saturday. Cheers! ************

We are runners in the New York City neighborhoods of Woodside, Sunnyside and surrounding areas of Queens. We even have a cozy track in our 'hood! Join the group and tell us where you like to run! We organize group runs and outings so that we can build a community of runne …
Barefoot Runners NYC is a group of runners who have left their thick-soled sneakers in the dust and started running with Vibram Five Fingers, other minimal sole shoes, or totally barefoot. The body's natural stride is a healthier, more natural way to run, resulting in better running efficiency and fewer injuries. We follow a lot of Daniel Lieb …
