If you run, you are a runner. It doesn’t matter how fast or how far. It doesn’t matter if today is your first day or If you’ve been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, No membership card to get. You just run. ~ John “The Penguin” Bingham This meetup has regularly scheduled runs around lakes in the area, along the river, and on some local trails. Most of the lakes are about 3 miles around, but we often link them together or g …

I enjoy going for a run at a very leisurely pace but I don't run on a consistent basis. I'd like to blame it on a busy schedule but the real culprit is lack of discipline. I'm looking for a small group of women who will provide each other with motivation, encouragement and accountability. Every week, I would like to schedule one evening run during the week and one morning run on the weekend. Most runs will be in Cottage Grove or nearby. It might also be fun to register for a few local races or, …

We are looking for a fun group who are looking for group fitness options in the north suburbs. We will initially do trail walk/run/jog. As it becomes warmer, we will take advantage of as many of the nearby fitness opportunities as the group initiates. We won't leave you behind - we are geared first to back-of-the pack athletes. The general area we will visit (but won't be bound to) is the north suburbs of the Twin Cities- Anoka, Coon Rapids, Lino Lakes, Hugo, White Bear.

This group is for runners, bikers, skiers, orienteers and athletes who don't stick to the road. We like the call of the wild, the unknown, the rough terrain, discovery and variety. Meetups may include small trail runs, xc ski races, hill training.... and yes, it's even permissible to have a road event in here - maybe a long bike ride into the countryside. Hiking, climbing... also okay. Beyond that... well, we will see. ALL levels, from beginner to advanced, are very very welcome.

I started this group to meet others interested in exploring the whole natural fitness movement that is blossoming out there right now. This might include things like hiking, playing in nature, body weight exercises, natural/ tactical gymnastics, barefoot running, paleo nutrition, etc, etc. I am exploring these activities and ideas and would like to meet others in the Twin Cities doing the same. … All donations go toward funding the cost of running this group (monthly website subscription fee, name tags, administrative items, etc.), advertising, promotional items, equipment (i.e. fencing, pool, agility), and so on. We also participate in occasional fund-raisers to raise monies for Boxer rescue, dog food & heartworm meds for those TCBC member families experiencing a financial crisis, and other emergency situations. All donations are GREATLY appreciated. Thank-you!
We hike local parks near the Twin Cities. Our hikes are somewhat more strenuous/ rigorous than those offered by most of the area meetup groups. The group is social, but also fitness-oriented. The pace is moderate, but everyone is expected to keep up. Until the foliage gets thick later in the spring, most of our hikes will include some off-trail travel (i.e., through the woods). We try to build something novel into each hike, which could be off-trail, going somewhere completely new to us, hiki …
… I am not running this group to turn a profit, but I am also not in a position to run it at a loss. I do not want to impose dues as I know some people can't afford it. To that end I am requesting ANNUAL donations. People can pay me a few bucks when they see me at an event, or they can donate online through Amazon Payments. My goal is that enough people will donate so that I do not have to charge dues. And if I turn a profit I can use that money to rent a shelter and host a picnic, or have events …

… I happened to get married in November - the answer to your question of "why is a married person running a singles' group" is simple, actually. I have given lectures and taught community education classes on the topics of dating, relationships, and making good choices, information I would love to share!
