I LOVE tennis!! My relationship with running is a bit more complicated. It's more of a love/hate type thing. I love the energy and excitement of races, but I hate running alone. So I figured, why not start a Queens Tennis meetup that incorporates warm up and short distance runs before we play tennis. Two of my favorite parks are Astoria Park and Flushing Meadows/Corona Park, so I will be alternating the meetups between these two parks. Both are great for running and tennis. The purpose of …

I decided to start the running group for two reasons, one I love to run and two to stay in shape. I also want to inspire all those who want to lose weight, stay fit, get in shape, reduce stress, be around positive people, meet new fellow runners and help those who don't find the motivation in them to "just do it".

Ok guys, so I am creating this group because I personally need a bit of a push to go running either early in the morning and/or late evenings. I also wanted to find other people in the Bronx Park East area (by the 2 train) and Morris Park area (by 5 train) who is interested in finding that motivation to run and exercise again. Anyone from any age group is welcomed. I will come up with different running routes to bring variety and I am willing to take suggestions too. I also have a membership wit …

Let's meet in Morningside Park to run and walk as a group, workup a sweat, start the year off with some healthy habits and utilize a beautiful park in our neighborhood.
This group was started to get people, like myself, in better shape than we already are.
I work out during the week but am looking to get a bit more out of my weekends. My goal is to be in the best shape possible for the summer (and rest of the year). Rain, Sleet, or Snow.
So I'm starting a running/calisthenic
s program for anyone from Astoria who wants to join: Saturday (3pm) and Sunday (4pm).
The workouts shouldn't take more than 1.5 hours (including warm up and cool down).
Bring enough water …
Barefoot Runners NYC is a group of runners who have left their thick-soled sneakers in the dust and started running with Vibram Five Fingers, other minimal sole shoes, or totally barefoot. Maybe you've read Born to Run, or maybe you've gotten injured running and are looking for a better solution -- whatever your reason, this is the place. The body's natural stride is a healthier, more natural way to run, resulting in better running efficiency and fewer injuries. We follow a lot of Daniel Lieb …

This group is dedicated for the people that are near River Road. As River Road stretching about 5 miles from Fort Lee, NJ to West New York, NJ, we can run up and down this beautiful strip on along the water and view the captivating views of Manhattan. We can walk, jog, run, race, and even have great obstacle challenges. Anything on this strip is possible.
Meet others in your local area that like to run and would like to improve their running skills. Plan group runs and participate in various short and long distance runs. We have a few group runs and occasionally race in team events. Please feel free to suggest events that are not posted as we can easily miss a local event and welcome your input. If you know of a team race coming up, by all means suggest it.

I started the 2 Mile Club because I believe when a group of people come together with common goals and common interests, motivation and confidence builds on themselves and creates even more. The purpose of running as a group vs. as an individual, strictly comes down to support. When someone runs alone, they are opening themselves up to the possibility of quitting, but together, we keep each other up and looking forward. The 2 Mile Club is not just about the act of running, it's also learning str …
