No idea if this group will work, but if it does it'll be down to you guys, the members. All other groups that I'm in, have a few organisers and assistant organisers, running around, doing a fab job organising great events for folks to go and do. Here I propose something a little different, you guys create your own events - perhaps stuff that you'd be doing anyway, but suddenly think hey wouldn't it be nice to have someone come along with me, with everyone being an event organiser. (remember to …
A small gathering of amateur musicians who meet weekly and enjoy playing a wide range of chamber music. There is no proscribed musical standard for admission to the group but players should be proficient at reading music. Commitment is valued over virtuosity. Current accommodation and the nature of chamber music limits the size of group meetings to 8 -10 players, but if interest grows we may by able to run more groups. Players are encouraged to bring music with them that they would like to play.

Edinburgh Laughter Club was established in June 2010 and is run by Jo Bluett - a Laughter Facilitator and Laughter Yoga Leader who also set up Laughter For Health (www.laughterforhealth.co.uk). Laughter really is the best medicine! It has amazing physiological and emotional benefits. We use Laughter Yoga to generate laughter from the body rather than the mind - this is important since our sense of humour is subjective - what makes one person laugh may be totally unfunny or even offensive to som …
I used to run the YES-Scotland group, which was started originally as a Tony Robbins support group in 2000, and we held regular monthly meetings, between Edinburgh, Glasgow & Perth. We usually invited two speakers to present at each meeting, and each was already a recognised leader in their field. With topics ranging from Speed-Reading to Mind-Mapping, every meeting was a fantastic opportunity to learn more on topics that we often didn't even know that we didn't know. Since then; NLP, hypnothera …
