This is a great place for like-minded walkers and runners to get together, stay fit and make new friends. Exercise improves mood, increases our ability to deal with stress, increases stamina, and sharpens the mind. How can you go wrong? Come out and join us. Piedmont Park offers some fantastic running paths. We meet on Saturdays at 8:30 am at Caribou Coffee (right across from The Flying Biscuit at the corner of 10th St. and Piedmont Ave). At 8:40 am we walk over to the park entrance at Piedmont Ave. and 12th St. to warm up. The routes are structured to accommodate walkers and runners. You have a choice of a 2.5 or 5 mile path (1 loop or 2), depending on your preference. After the walk/run we often head out for a bite to eat and socialize. A lot of great friendships have developed amidst this supportive and positive group of runners and walkers.
Parking:
10th street, 11th street, 12th street, and Piedmont are options for parking, as well as side streets off of 10th like Myrtle St. It's not a good idea to leave your vehicle at Caribou while in the park, or any other surrounding businesses.
